Flexible Content Start Dates

Lee Dussinger Updated by Lee Dussinger

Representing the specific details of how a brand goes to market has always been a key feature of Opal. Now, we’re making that even more powerful!

Flexible Content Start allows users to set separate dates for individual pieces of content within a moment. This ensures that Opal represents the exact date that every piece of content goes to market.

How to Use It

How to set alternate start dates for pieces of content:

  1. Build your primary moment with a date range that will encompass all of the individual content start dates.
  2. In your moment, create content shells for each of your content pieces.
  3. Click into the composer for these pieces of content and select your separate start dates.

How to see the alternate start dates:

In the moment, the publication date appears in the header for each piece of content.

The publication dates for all the content pieces in a moment can be seen in the Timelines view.

In the Week view, a moment that includes content with multiple start dates will have the range of alternate dates. In addition, the content pieces with the alternate start dates will have a calendar icon next to them.

Key Use Cases

1. Content in a Series: Release a series of related posts or content pieces over a period of time.

2. Omnichannel Campaigns: Schedule content for different channels on different dates in one moment.

3. Events & Releases: Coordinate a series of related teasers, announcement content, and follow-up messaging in one moment.

4. Flighting for Paid Ads: For paid campaigns with a specific cadence for creative, this can show the correct schedule in a single moment.

Benefits
  1. Better organization for complex campaigns: Showing, organizing, and finding the pieces of content for a multi-day campaign is easier.
  2. 100% accurate representation of campaign timing: Opal represents the exact timing of each piece of content correctly. This eliminates the need for workarounds such as listing the alternative launch date in the Notes section, which can be overlooked.

Quick Note: For any customers using a social content publishing integration, your content will be published on the alternative content start date.
