View a Presentation

When you share an Opal presentation with someone, you might be curious to know what it looks like on the recipient's end. Below are details of what a recipient will see, as well as information about what they can do, as an Opal user and non-user, after opening a presentation.

View a Shared Presentation

  1. Click on a presentation link in an email will open the presentation in your default web browser.
  2. Enter your first name, last name, email address, and optional password.
  3. Click "View Presentation.”
Note: Your name and email address will be visible to the presentation owner inside the presentation share link settings.

Once the first slide of the presentation has loaded, use your keyboard arrows or the arrows located in the top right-hand corner to navigate slides.

Alternatively, click on the grid button to see a thumbnail overview of all slides. Click on any slide to view it.

Available Functionality

Depending on if you have an Opal account or not, different options will be available to you.

Opal User

You have complete access to content and its supporting actions. The following lis of functionality that is available to you.

Content Options
  • You can edit content.
    Tip: Click “”, then “View in Composer” to open a new window to edit content. Once finished, press the escape key or click “Save + Close” to return to the presentation.
  • You can localize content.
  • You can share content.
  • You can download a rendering of content.
  • You can download assets.
  • You can download a CSV.
  • You can copy text to your clipboard.
Collaborators
  • You can see who has collaborated on the content.
Content Details
  • You can see content options and labels.
Notes
  • You can read notes.
  • You can add and edit notes.
  • You can upload files to notes.
  • You can download note assets.
Chat & Activity
  • You can see the chat and activity history.
  • You can leave comments, and @mention relevant parties.
Device Views
  • You can switch between device views.
Approval Status
  • If you are an approver on content in the presentation, you can approve/decline from the presentation.

Non-Opal User

You cannot approve, view chat & activity, or edit any content. Below is a list of all the capabilities of presentations you can and cannot use.

Content Options
  • You can share content.
  • You can download a rendering of content.
  • You can download assets.
  • You can download a CSV.
  • You can copy text to your clipboard.
Collaborators
  • You can see who has collaborated on the content.
Content Details
  • You can see content options and labels.
Notes
  • You can read notes.
  • You cannot add and edit notes.
  • You cannot upload files to notes.
  • You can download note assets.
Chat & Activity
  • You cannot see the chat and activity history.
  • You cannot leave comments, and @mention relevant parties.
Device View
  • You can switch between device views.
Approval Status
  • You cannot see the approval status.
  • You cannot see who approved content.
